Passengers who need a stop-over at Quito International Airport before continuing their journey on another flight (connecting passengers or passengers in transit) must take the following into consideration:

passengers in transit
  • The time required for the flight connection may vary according to the route, airline, whether it is necessary to go through government Immigration and Customs Control, whether it is necessary to collect baggage or if it has been checked through to the final destination, and whether you have your boarding pass for your next flight.
  • Bear in mind that if you do not have your boarding pass for your next flight or must collect baggage because it has not been checked through to the final destination, you must go through Immigration and Customs Control and head to your airline´s check-in desk to check in for the next flight. After this, in the case of international connections, you must go through Security and Immigration Control in order to enter the departure area.

Remember that airline check-in desks open three hours before international flights and one hour before domestic flights. If your waiting time exceeds this, you may choose to remain in the terminal to enjoy the services offered by Quito Airport or to visit the Wyndham Quito Airport Hotel, located just a few meters from the airport passenger terminal.
